There is a Lister D Petrol / Paraffin engine on it’s way—Bought on eBay—just needs picking up next week—Watch this space……
Picked up on Sunday morning from a very nice chap. All complete apart from a silencer but I have a spare in the workshop. The engine seemed to be seized but when I went to move it onto my hoist it turned a little. After a liberal coating of WD40 type oil both inside and out she turned over. I will need to strip the carb and clean it and check the mag. When this is done I will clean out the sludge from the crankcase and put in fresh oil. Once I am happy all is well I will try to start it. I suspect that the rings will be gummed up but I will see if there is any oil smoke—If there is I will have to remove the piston and free up the rings but that will be a in a week or two.
