1937 Lister D.

This engine was purchased off EBay from a seller in Wells, Somerset. It was in fairly good condition and was running so all it needed was a good clean up, an oil change, and some fresh petrol.

It was run for the 3 days of the 2007 Torbay steam fair and did not miss a beat.

In the video the top of the hopper has my oil can warming so that the oil would flow a bit easier. It was quite a cold day.

1948 Lister D.

This engine was also purchased on EBay. It was used on a farm near Wiscombe House in East Devon. When purchased it was running but very fast as the carb was rusted in the fully open position. The engine was stripped except for the cylinder head, totally cleaned inside and out, all parts repainted, and completely rebuilt. All gaskets were made by hand for the rebuild.

1959 Lister D.

This engine came from a small village near Liskeard, Cornwall. When purchase it  came as several large castings (crank case, head, flywheel, crank etc), and 2 boxes of bits. On getting it home all the parts were cleaned and repainted and the engine re-assembled. There were some bits missing but these are easily purchased on EBay and at auto jumbles.
